Good Day team

There is a billing block functionality on the customer project in the Sales Order. It works as expected when manually selecting billing block reason on the project sales order, the billing details for that blocked project are not coming up on the Manage Project Billing APP. This means billing clerk will not be able to request/create BDR for this project until the block is cleared. See screenshot attached.

Please advise if there is a way of automating this functionality using the business rules. for example if customer reference field is not populated for customer ABC then set a billing block on the sales order.

Kind regards,

Angelina

SAP Build Process Automation (https://www.sap.com/products/technology-platform/process-automation/get-started.html) can help you automate processes and tasks in SAP S/4HANA Cloud scenario. Users can create and manage processes and workflows using a no-code process builder. The process builder is the central component for many projects. Using simple drag-and-drop functionalities, users can define start triggers for a process and ddd forms for request or approvals.

In your scenario you can Add decision logic and SAP Build Process Automation bot directly into the process flow, Using the business rules you can implement the decision logic based on customer reference field if it is not populated for specific customer then set a billing block on the sales order. You can as well define process controls and variants, which reflect how the process is to be executed according to defined conditions

You can provide more details with screen shots on billing block scenario and raise the ticket with CA-ML-RPA if you run into any issues.

There are sample reference payment block scenario https://store.irpa.cfapps.eu10.hana.ondemand.com/#/package/9afc607a-9e29-4f08-864d-d3398b77196a

and you can apply automation to decide the block logic on the customer account or sales order for billing .

You can refer to SAP Build Process Automation Set up Guide https://help.sap.com/docs/PROCESS_AUTOMATION/a331c4ef0a9d48a89c779fd449c022e7/b9758013e1114c9194cd52...

This will help you explore possible ways to build the automation on your custom process and monitor it.You can explore the SAP Bot store that will give you few sample content to get started with your automation https://store.irpa.cfapps.eu10.hana.ondemand.com/#/explore/order=last-updated%2Cdesc/search=attach%2...

You can also explore the option of automating the task per your needed on SAP Build Process Automation

In addition, There are some of the extensibility options with SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

In SAP S/4HANA Cloud, most standard fields of sales document cannot be modified in order to make sure the data consistency and core process stable. However I would you to vote the customer influence request so we can prioritize the standard sales document fields via customer specific logic.

Influence Request

https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#idea/295309

There is no direct link between header blocks and item blocks, which means the billing block on sales document header and item are independent from each other and need to be defined separately.

Cloud BAdI "SD_SLS_MODIFY_HEAD" existing which allow you to apply logic on custom fields to be changed via this Cloud BAdI. SAP may plan to allow in SAP S/4HANA Cloud for Key User and Developer Extensibility to control billing blocks on header level via custom defined logic. This functionality may be considered in a future release. But be aware that plans can be changed by SAP any time due to technical reasons.
