Hi,

A client that wants to convert from ECC to S/4HANA, what impacts does this have on the SAP WM module?
This in a Brownfiled conversion.

I think SAP WM will be out of support soon, but at this point we will ignore that fact. And igonre EWM please.

Are there tables that change?
Are there transactions that will be obsolete?

Best Regards,

Daniel

Hello @daniel_cunha1

Technically, there is zero impact on WM. WM stays as it is in S/4HANA, since SAP wants to phase it out and they have not delivered any simplifications or enhancements in this area. So WM is going to work after migration to S/4HANA as it works in S/4 as it works right now in ECC.

However, WM is within the compatibility scope in S/4HANA. Thus, the use rights to WM are going to expire until the end of 2025. Again that is a legal restriction, not a technical one.

Past 2025 you can still use a subset of WM in S/4HANA, called "stock room management". The following functionalities are not part of the stock room management:

  • Task & Resource Management (LE-TRM),
  • Value Added Service (LE-WM-VAS),
  • Yard Management (LE-YM),
  • Cross-Docking (LE-WM-CD),
  • Wave Management/Collective Processing (LE-WM-TFM-CP),
  • Decentral Warehouse Management (LE-WM-DWM)
  • Warehouse Control Unit Interface (LSR)

Of course those functionalities are not going to disappear past 2025, but the usage rights will expire. That is legalese again.

See the note 2881166 - FAQ : Stock Room Management for details.
