Minimum Settings Required for Automatic Release of Purchase Contract

I would like to set the minimum required for "Automatic Release of Purchase Contract."
Question: Do I need to set all the steps below?
I have set only step1, step2, step3 and step8. Is there any problem?

step7.MANDATORY : Register Gateway Service for Value Helps
step8.Optional: Adapt Flexible Workflow Settings
step9.Optional: Adapt the Conditions Under which the Flexible Workflow is Restarted

Dear Customer, 

I have checked and the steps marked as mandatory are indeed needed to ensure consistency for the workflow. 

I would advise to ensure to carry out all mandatory steps as mentioned in SAP Help: https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_ON-PREMISE/af9ef57f504840d2b81be8667206d485/be616f1ebef243dda20...

For example there are known issues if the task is not set as General. Issues where the is a delay in the workitem reaching the approver, and others. 

All steps are important, but to ensure consistency, please ensure to follow through on any marked as mandatory.
