No VIES validation of VAT reg. number in App Manage Customer Master Data

Hi,

The VIES validation of VAT registration numbers is not working in the Fiori app "Manage Customer Master", while it works in the WebGui app "Maintain Business Partner".

I was asked the above query recently via an incident and for the benefit of the community users, I am answering it here as well.

Hi,

The BP Fiori Apps are light weighted Apps, not all functionality is provided with them.

With each release, we are adding more features and functionality to the BP Fiori Apps. Currently, In BP Fiori Apps, The application performs the check for potential duplicates based on the values for fields such as Name, Address etc.

However, apart from App Maintain Business Partner, there is couple of workaround available for the VIES validation of VAT reg. number.

1. You can make use of App Online Validation for Multiple Business Partners.

2. Configure communication scenario for VIES.
