Our organisation has recently implemented SAP S/4 Hana and SAP Analytics Cloud. We are looking at how best we deal with organisational structure changes (which occur frequently) with teams moving from one department to another. I think we have the option of either 1) keeping the existing profit centre and reassigning to a different node in the profit centre hierarchy, or 2) setting up a new profit centre, closing the old profit centre and journaling transactions across to the new profit centre. The question is what are the best practices for making such changes? If we go down the route of options 1, I assume this will change historic reporting, is there any way around this?
