Child and parent production order BOM explosion date should be same

Dear Friends,

Explosion date available in master data tab of production order screen.

We have a requirement to set explosion date of all the child production orders fetch from "Explosion date" of their parent production order.

Additional details:

We are following MTO setup.

After MD50 MRP Run planned orders will get create for FERT material.

Prod users converting planned order to production order (through CO40/MD04). At the same time for it's dependent components child production orders creation takes place automatically.

There is a field called Explosion date available in production order "Master data" tab. As of now for both types of prod orders (parent ⁢'s child) this explosion date is copied from order finish date. But going forward business want to have for all child production orders explosion date should be fetch from it's parent production order's explosion date.

We have proposed a solution with the help of Explosion number (OMIW) but business not preferred fixed key date concept.

Please help us. Do we have SAP standard configuration to achieve this requirement?

Look at 'BOM Explosion Number' or maybe 'Collective Order'.

Both functionalities intended for make-to-order / make-to-project processes.

Can you please explain it ?

As of now explosion date available in in parent production order (master data tab) is different and child production order is different.

We need to maintain both the places should be same as parent production order.
