Custom COPA characteristic is not updated when posting is done

Dear experts

We have requirement to display KNA1 KATR10 field in COPA. In BP tcode, it is present in "Customer additional data" tab under "Customer" role, ref Attribute 10 field. We have created custom COPA characteristic, added it to data structure, regenerated Op concern, created KEDR rule, but when document is posted from FB70, "Attribute 10" field in KE24 is blank. In ACDOCA, WWKAT_PA is blank. Why characteristic is not updated ?

Created new COPA characteristic WWKAT with origin table KNA1 origin field KATR10. While creating characteristic, we selected radio button "Transfer from SAP field" and mentioned table as KNA1.

Created step in KEDR, with step type Table Lookup, Origin table KNA1, and KNA1 KATR10 is mapped to COPA WWKAT.

Customer master KNA1 KATR10 is not blank.

We are using margin analysis in S4H 2021 system.

Go to KEDR - Select your Derivation Rule - Press F8

Enter Customer No and and Click on DERIVE and see if WW Char is populated or not. If not, you can click on "Analyze Derivation" and that should explain why it is not populated

You can also use FM KEDR_COPA_DERIVE to debug your derivation rule, that should also explain why it fails

Thanks for feedback. I selected step and clicked on F8, then I entered customer, clicked on Derivation. Attribute 10 field is populated. But when I post document from FB70, ACDOCA field is not updated.

I will also debug this.

I have an observation. While testing using FB70, I clicked on profitability segment box, customer field is blank even though I have entered customer at header level. Since in COPA customer is blank, hence Attribute 10 is blank. Now question arises why does not customer flow from FB70 Header to COPA ?

In profitability segment box in FB70, if I enter Customer number and click on Derivation, then Attribute 10 got derived and it is also updated in ACDOCA.
