FI DIVISION IMPLEMENTATION

Good Morning.

Currently, the company I work for wants to segment the business by divisions, however when raising the need to the consultancy they indicate that SAP does not recommend the use of these. But we see that the parameterization is still active in the system and validating S / 4 Hana is also contemplated within the organizational structure of FI.

I would like to know if there is any specific note where SAP says that they should not be implemented and what are the reasons. Thanks a lot.

The FI organizational structure contains several elements to open the balance sheet and other reports, among those is the division as evidenced in the image. My concern is because SAP does not recommend using this organizational unit and instead to use better segments or profit centers.

The business area is intended to be obsolete in the upcoming versions. In cloud version is not yet available.

It's better recommended to use segments that's is the functionality that gives further options in S/4HANA
