Limitations on data size and time when using Odata for Datasources in SAP ByD

Hi Experts,

Do we have any data size and URL run time limitation when consuming data from OData for DataSources of SAP ByD from external systems.

As given in Retrieving Analytics Data Using OData from help.sap.com OData for Reports have limitation for only 50 characteristics and keys and 2 GB Data memory.

So do we have any such limitations in Odata for DataSources too.?

Hi Abhinandan

The ways I am aware of are those below:

1. When selecting the data source in BW, make sure you restrict the selections. You can retrieve the data in several smaller "batches" rather than requesting the complete data source in one go.

2. You can also enable the pagination option. To do this, you have to apply the SAP note 2346390 in your BW system. Please also note that there are 2 restrictions regarding the pagination feature:

- Pagination cannot be set/revoked at a data source level. Once set, extraction for ALL data sources will happen via pagination

- Pagination is currently supported only for Basic data sources and combined data sources that combine basic data sources only.
