Returns Delivery - Delivery unit from Material Master considered

Hello All,

We are facing a strange issue. We have material which has Base Unit of Measure as PC (Piece). However the Delivery Unit is Cartoon and the same is maintained in Material Master - Sales Org View 1 (MVKE - SCMNG). Along with this obviously we have maintained conversion factor in Additional Data (for example 1 cartoon = 12 Piece). Everything works fine with Sales Order, Delivery and Invoice.

Now, we have Customer Returns. The Customer may return the goods in less than one Cartoon Quantity. Say in the above 1 Cartoon = 12 Pieces, but Customer returned only 7 pieces.

In this case when we create Return Delivery (with 7 PC), system gives an hard error - Delivery unit not met.

Is this SAP Standard? Or we are missing some very obvious setting?

Though the message number is a standard, the long text differs from what you shared. Have a look at OSS note 598199 though the Symptom mentioned therein is different. Of course, you can change this message to a warning message in OVM1
