Dear colleagues
This might be a simple one, I just want to reconfirm. According to the "custom fields" section (https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_CLOUD/0f69f8fb28ac4bf48d2b57b9637e81fa/ce819b8557194ae0aa180ba4ac6a04de.html?locale=en-US) it is possible for SAP S/4HANA *Public* Cloud to use the Extensibility Cockpit to create additional fields in the data model of Business Objects.
To me, technically speaking this is the equivalent of creating/using a table append in ECC. (It may be done differently on technical level but when talking to customers this is the terminology they will understand.)
This field can then be filled during data migration - if the respecitve object is enabled for custom fields (based on this list https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_CLOUD/cc9ecc5f5f6b400a98d10e930324f7ad/20607b6de19a4d34a41b0abe...
Is the above mentioned correct?
Thanks for your support
Henrik
Yes, you are correct.
And the custom field can also be extend to the related OData/SOAP APIs for data integration purpose.
