SAP Subscription Billing, SAP S/4HANA Cloud Clarification

Hello Experts,

We have a customer with SAP Subscription Billing solution, with integration of 57Z. Has anyone used this solution of 57Z?

Please correct me if I'm understanding correctly.

First, we have to create subscriptions, rate elements and products in SUB BILL system and then subscriptions are replicated as provider contracts, rate elements and products are replicated as products in SAP.

In SAP we initially thought it has to be Sales Order or Sales Contract, but I tried to create a sales order with subscription products manually created inside SAP with SBPD, SBRE material type it said there is no item category available for subscription products, could anybody clarify that possible to create a sales order with subscription products?

Then I searched SAP help portal that it has to be a solution order in SAP with service items, sales items and subscription items can be added and when released it will create subsequent documents automatically.

But I can't find one created for subscription products. Also, should we need to create any subscription products manually inside SAP or only via replication handled? If so to create manually, do we need valuation class? Also, couldn't find one for subscription products created.

Also, replications is not working properly maintained below settings in the integration settings for Subscription Billing system.

Please advise.

Thanks!

Hi @Brinda911
In addtition the very helpful links/data flow diagram provided by @shpresimshabaj I'd like to add:

  • You don't need to create additional products in S/4HANA Cloud. Just replicate them by iFlow or MDI from the Subscription Billing products and rate plans. You might need to update some information, that is not present in SB (e.g. tax classification), but no additional products to be created.
  • Regarding the subscription creation flow, there are two basic options:
In case you want to combine selling different tpyes of products on a single order or you want to make use of the orchestration functionality of the solution order -> capture the subscriptions by creating subscription items as part of a solution order.
If this is not required, you can also create subscriptions directly in Subscription Billing. Either manually in the subscription app or through APIs.
Independently of the way how you created the subscription, they will replicate into provider contracts. And any bill that is created by Subscription Billing and transferred into S/4HANA Cloud will then reference the provider contract.

Best regards
Stefan

One quick question on the SAP EVENT MESH activation for Subscription Billing and SAP S/4HANA. Do we need to have 1NN business event handling enabled for piblic cloud or is there any standard out of the box event messaging can be used without having to have additional license for 1NN? @stefan_kiene @shpresimshabaj
