To fix the exchange rate on certain Project

Dear SAP Expert,

Our client is requiring that:

· To fix the exchange rate on large projects on the starting dates of projects; instead of using the exchange rate defined and changed by finance team (for example, on the app Currency Exchange Rate).

· Then the exchange rate be fixed all along the project execution phase. The exchange rate fixed also on committed cost.

· A user-friendly business process should be expected and implemented.

Could you please indicate me that the standard SAP Cloud if can cover this requirement?

Let me recap my understanding of the requirement to see if I understood it correctly. The customer project is in a currency that differs from the company code currency. A fixed exchange rate for a specific project should be maintained that is valid for the whole project lifetime. Postings related to the project should be done with the specified "project exchange rate".

In my opinion, this requirement will not be possible to achieve currently with the standard tools of SAP S/4HANA Cloud. It is possible to configure exchange rate types and maintain exchange rates with specific exchange rate types for different purposes, but these are assigned on company code level. Even extensibility cannot achieve the requirement since automated postings by the system need to changed. For example, a WIP posting resulting from time recording is done in project currency and converted to company code currency automatically using the system exchange rate determination.
