S/4 HANA MDG and MDI integration

Hi,

We are looking to integrate MDG (S/4 HANA v1909) with MDI service on BTP. To start with we are looking to send BP , CC etc.

However I see that the below which is for 2022 release is not available for 1909.

Would like to know if we cannot use MDI for v1909. Or if we can use, is there a central repository where I can find which objects are supported for MDG (v1909) integration with MDI

Hi,

With S/4HANA On Premise 1909, there is only the possibility to integrate business partner via SOAP with MDI (see S/4HANA documentation for version 1909). The so called MDI Adapter Client in S/4HANA On Premise (see S/4HANA documentation latest version), to support more master data types, started to be available from 2020 onwards (see S/4HANA documentation for version 2020).

Integrating MDG via MDI currently has severe restrictions. Central maintenance of BP data in MDG and replication to other systems is supported. However, de-central maintenance scenarios of BP data (data maintenance in e.g. an application, governance via MDG and replicating to other systems) are not yet supported via MDI. These scenarios can currently only be supported when using direct SOAP replication (not via MDI). This is currently also true for releases higher than 1909. We hope to close this gap when using MDI and MDG in one of the next releases.
