Hi Dilak,
Technically what makes a number range unique is a combination of "No-Year-From No.-To number" as seen in your screen too. So even though 17 and 24 have an overlap, they are 2 different ranges from the SAP standpoint. Where I guess SAP has put the ownership back on us, is to make sure we smartly use the number ranges to our advantage to avoid any conflicting issues. Having said that, there are standard checks SAP has and those are explained in this OSS - https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/1845471
Also read through this article where folks have discussed similar concern - https://answers.sap.com/questions/7895751/number-range-object-overlap.html
I hope all these details are helpful in clarifying your confusion. Good Luck!

Kartik, Thanks for your reply.
In standard, system will not allow to have the same number range with different objects. It will trigger a message "Enter intervals without overlap" and you can't save this change. If it is allowing in your case, then, it seems to be a bug. Raise an OSS message
