Continuing our blog series about SAP Subscription Billing’s new features, this month we'd like to share how you can offer subscriptions in different currencies within the same market. We'll also look at a couple of smaller features that we released: editable time zones and an API feature for pending subscriptions.

Additional Currencies for Markets

By assigning secondary currencies to markets, you can now define prices in those currencies for your subscriptions. This allows you, for example, to work with markets that involve multiple regions and currencies, or to enable your customers to pay in the currency of their choice. For example, for a market "Central Europe" you could use the main currency EUR but also allow customers to pay in CHF.

Note that this feature is only available if you're using pricing with pricing schemes. Prices for all market currencies that you intend to use must also be defined in the relevant lookup tables.

In the Manage Business Configuration app, you can now define secondary currencies for a market:

In the Manage Allowance Templates app, you can now create prices in secondary currencies when you add the market to an allowance template:

In the Manage Subscriptions app, you can now create subscriptions with any valid market currency for the market:

As subscriptions can now be created with a different currency than the primary market currency, bills are now split according to the currency of the charges, even if the market is the same.

For more information on the required setup and steps, see Customized Pricing on the SAP Help Portal.

Other Enhancements

Edit the Market Time Zone

In the Manage Business configuration app, you can now change the time zone of a market.

Subscriptions API: Edit the Billing Cycles that are Billed Together

In the Subscriptions API, the following endpoints enable you now to edit the attribute numberOfCyclesBilledTogether for pending subscriptions:

  • /subscriptions/{id} (PATCH)
  • /subscriptions/{id}/completion (POST)

Those were the highlights from our latest feature deliveries. Thanks for reading today’s blog post! katherinewaters_0-1708429450078.png
