When we create a custom object, we need to follow the steps to display this object in the story schema.

Below is the custom object created in configure object definition. The object name is cust_testreport and has two custom fields: cust_field1 and cust_field2.

Now go to the Manage data tool and create a new Schema from Report Schema Configuration Entity. In case the schema is already configured then you can skip this step. Here we have created a schema named MDF object schema. Save the Schema after its creation.

Now go to Report Object Configuration Entity in the Manage Data tool and open the custom object we created. By default, custom MDF objects are non-root objects. However, you can easily make a custom MDF object as the root object for the schema by changing IS Root field to Yes. To associate the custom object in the schema, add the schema we created under Sub Domain Schema List. In the below screenshot, we have added the MDF object schema to the Sub Domain schema list.

Once this configuration has been done the custom object becomes available for reporting in the Available Data section of the Query Designer page.
