Variable Pay Individual View

Hi all,

is there a possibility to show the employees in the variable pay individual view just specific columns and not the whole worksheet the admins or manager sees?

Is it possible to set through field based permissions the specific column permissions for employees?

Best regards
Linda

Yes, the indiviual view respects field based permissions.

But when I create a field based permission group for employees - are they then the real employees or is this then the manager of the employee?

thank you very much in advance!

You would use the "Everyone" option. However, if you make a "Manager" group and assign that to a column, it really just checks "Is the viewer a manager?" rather than "Is this person a manager of the employee shown" - so if the employee viewing their own individual view is a manager of other employees, they would see a column with the permission "Manager"

Hello phil.macgovern

Is it possible to hide background history elements fields in the variable pay worksheet & individual view through RBP?
e.g, if we want to hide target percentage history in assignment details for employees for a period but want to keep it visible for manager and comp admins.

Do you see any possibility to achieve this

Best Regards,

Not really. First, off, you cannot directly control the appearance of background sections in the assignment - that is only controlled by the "visible" attribute in the data model. However, you can make these fields not visible and make Assignment Level Custom Fields that pull directly from the data model and used Field Based Permissions for those.

The problem lies with the "Manager" role in Field Based Permissions. When the system processes that role, it doesn't look if the viewer is the manager of the viewed employee, but instead are they in the class of Manager - that is, do they have any direct reports of their own. This means that all managers will be able to see their own values.
