We are keen to explore the use of "blended item". The preference is to have an SCORM object and an instructor led class (virtual, through VLS function). The users can view and complete the SCORM object either before or after the instructor led class.
We want to ensure that the learners are only given a completion credit when they complete BOTH the SCORM and the virtual instructor-led session. In the previous version, it's been problematic and I wonder if the new releases will show any improvement.
If we choose the option to record completion on SCORM object completion, then, will it mean even those who did not attend the instructor-led session but completed the SCORM object will be marked as "Complete"? (p.s. we are not using "record completion on launch")
Vice versa, for VLS instructor led sessions, if we were to award completion automatically, does it mean that even if the SCORM object is not completed, the blended item will be marked as "Complete"?
We are not considering getting admin/ instructor to do manual record completion for 2 reasons:
1. in a VLS, it is hard for the Instructor to keep track of attendance
2. instances of in-person Instructor-led sessions are lower.
As an alternative, we create 2 separate items, one VLS instructor led and another for the SCORM and build that up as a curriculum and track curriculum completion instead.
