OIL_&_GAS activation S/4HANA (on-premise or Private Cloud)

Dear Community Members,

Our company is planning Oil & Gas implementation on S/4HANA (Private Cloud) for a potential customer.

As part of preparations I have identified the following sources of information:

This provides a fairly good overview of the Oil&Gas solution for functional/customizing consultants.

But I was not able to find detailed 'technical' information related to activation of OIL_&_GAS business function set - i.e. are there special prerequisites, sequence of activation that needs to be followed, dependencies with other function sets...

Are you able to direct me to a Note or KB article that is covering the details of OIL_&_GAS activation in S/4HANA on a more technical level?

On S4HANA it's little bit more tricky in terms of actual BC Sets activations. Your Basis should be able to help you out on this.

Just a quick clarification please - when you say " On Premise or Private Cloud " what exactly do you mean here ?

In-directly both are same. Your server simply resides with someone else but still you control it. No ?

or did you mean to talk about RISE ?

thanks for your response.

I was able to find this documentation as part of on-line help for S/4HANA and the description is quite clear.

However I was wondering if there is any further more 'technical' documentation available for the Basis consultant activating IS-Oil - such as a collective SAP Note, detailing any prerequisites or corrections that are mandatory to be installed before using IS-Oil in the latest release of S/4HANA?

(I was not able to find it using SAP Notes search - so maybe it does not exist... 🙂

SAP had planned to publish in Sept. 2021 the SAP Note / Technical documentation for activating IS-Oil & Gas Business function set, as post S4HANA installation activities. It was confirmed by SAP against the incident / cases raised. 

It seems it is not published. I could not find this.
