Hi,
another thing that is confusing me in the Learning Material:
There is this statement
In the video below about Data Tiering Pyramid there is a statement that a Data Lake is for Cold Data. NSE is for warm data. Similar statements can be found din other units.
My conclusion is that there is a mistake in the first screenshot? Or can this somehow be clarified?
Kind regards
Meinrad
@Meinrad I guess you are mixing up data lakes.
In SAP HANA Cloud there are two flavours of data lakes.
In the materials I try to distinguish between these two flavours by talking about integrated data lake (1) and standalone data lake (2).
In your screenshot, the SAP HANA Cloud, data lake option (2) is explained. In that situation the data lake data is warm.
In option (1) SAP HANA Cloud, SAP HANA database with a data lake attached, the data layers are as follows:
In Option (2) SAP HANA Cloud, data lake. This is the standalone data lake, the data layers are as follows:
Would be a bit strange if this data temperature would be called cold.
Hope this clears things up a bit.
