Announcing the availability of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) solution and learning content for academic use! SAP IBP is a cloud based state-of-the-art supply chain planning platform that combines sales and operations planning (S&OP), forecasting and demand, response and supply, demand-driven replenishment and inventory planning. According to IDC, 63% of companies say that supply chain resiliency is a critical gap. Since the pandemic a strong supply chain is more critical than ever. This business challenge provides an outstanding opportunity for students with supply chain planning knowledge and IBP hands-on experience to help companies tackle this issue.
Starting in early October, SAP IBP is available to University Alliances member institutions around the world via UCC Magdeburg. Presentation slides, introductory exercises and two cases are available, all running on SAP IBP. The learning content features the Global Bike scenario, a dataset many are familiar with already.
Case one introduces Sales & Operations Planning. It provides students with an understanding of heuristic (infinite) S&OP without capacity constraints. Case activities include planning a marketing forecast, creating an annual operating plan (AOP), determining / releasing consensus demand and running an infinite S&OP planning heuristic.
Case two covers Demand Planning. Case activities help students to learn how to do demand planning, including setting up and executing ABC/XYZ segmentation and analyzing the results.
University Alliances provides a strong combination of introductory, hands-on and deep dive content to meet a wide range of educational needs. The SAP IBP quick start guide is a great resource to learn more about the solution and discover how leading SAP customers have used IBP to build a strong supply chain. The new content mentioned above along with SAP IBP system access provided by UCC Magdeburg reinforces S&OP and Demand Planning concepts and provides students with a hands-on experience. From there students can go deeper into the solution with the SAP IBP Learning Journey (link requires log-in to Learning Hub) and become certified.
The cost is currently 1,500 EUR for one semester or 2,500 EUR for two semesters; please check for latest pricing as it will be adjusted in the new year.

SAP Analytics Cloud (quick start, offering brochure) and SAP Data Warehouse Cloud (quick start, offering brochure) learning content is available now via UCC Magdeburg. Learning content featuring the Intelligent Robotics Process Automation (iRPA) service of SAP Business Technology Platform will be piloted this semester. Look for opportunities to join the pilot phase of SAP Ariba and SAP SuccessFactors curriculum projects to start in 2023.
