Pick in grams instead of pieces

Hello,

my goal is to pick the product in grams instead of pieces. The process looks like this:

1. Product arrives in HU in the gr-zone in PC (pieces).

2. Put away the HU with the product in PC into the storage bin.

3. Pick the amount of products from the HU in PC to the destination HU.

My solution was to try it with the AUoM (Alternative Unit of Measure) in the product master data. So I entered there gram. But it only works if my product is not in an HU. If I do not have an HU, the monitor and the rf dialog show grams for AUoM. 

The second idea was to try it with the packspec. This has not worked so far. There I entered the unit of measure and the pick-hu in the level for the warehouse.

Im not searching for a solution with / in erp. 

Do you have any other idea? thank you!

Hi,

maybe the question should first be asked WHY you want to do this? As this is not a real alternative unit of measure. Is this product a catch weight product? Does the price depend on the weight?

Hi Jürgen. The reason is bc its easier for the people to pick in gram and not in pieces. And no.. it's not a catch weight product. The idea was to handle it in EWM and not to touch ERP. Thanks.
