TM Freight Order Integration with EWM Vehicle and Transportation Unit

Hi Community network,

I have a question regarding TM-EWM Integration.

System landscape is S/4HANA 1909 FPS02 with embedded EWM and TM.

TM Process is as follows (based on FU from DLV):

  1. Create Container Unit in TM
  2. Assign FU to Container Unit
  3. Create Freight Order
  4. Assign Container Unit to Freight Order
  5. Set Load Plan (Stop) to finalize in order to generate LDAP to EWM

In EWM following happens:

  1. Vehicle with external ID of Freight Order is created
  2. Transportation Unit with external ID of Freight Order is created
  3. Vehicle and TU (based on Freight Order) are assigned
  4. Transportation Unit with external ID of Container Unit is created
  5. Delivery is assigned to TU from Container Unit

è Container TU and Vehicle and FO TU are not linked to each other.

Visualization:

My aim is to have one Vehicle with external ID of Freight Order which is assigned to the container TU which holds the delivery assignment.

Visualization:

Settings:

My settings for Define Control Parameters for Forming Vehicles/Transportation Units

FTL MTr is used for Freight Order (Vehicle), CN MTr is used for Container Unit (TU).

With this settings I get my above mentioned outcome (1 VEH and 2 TUs).

To achive my desired outcome, I removed the control parameter for TU creation for FTL MTr. With this setting I got an error during LDAP Processing stating that the TU Creation Control Parameter is missing.

Packaging Material for FTL comes from /SCWM/PM_MTR. Packaging Material for Container comes from Equipment Customizing for Container. They are different material numbers.

I am pretty sure there must be a way of achiving my goal. I would be very happy if somebody could help me out with this one!

Thanks in advance and best regards,

BS

Please let us know how was this solved.

Thanks

Hi Vjaijo,

Unfortunetely I did not find a solution as we followed a different approach on integrating containers with EWM for our use case.

We kept container number as external id in FO TU and transfer it to TM via BAdI Implementation.

But as a hint for you to deep dive into your investigation take a look in inbound mapping of LDAP Message in EWM. There the mapping of TM Hierarchy happens and EWM Objects are created. Maybe you find a spot an how to change the behaviour of the system to achiev your desired outcome:

/SCWM/CL_BIF_SR_TOLDAP_RQ_SRV->MAPIN_HIERARCHY_ITEM
