| What is the future of ABAP with the introduction of BTP? | With SAP BTP, ABAP environment we offer a platform-as-a-service offering for ABAP developers on SAP BTP. You can develop side-by-side extensions and multi-tenancy enabled SaaS applications. | ABAP in BTP or ABAP in Steampunk side-by-side on S/4? | SAP BTP, ABAP environment allows to develop loosely coupled extensions to S/4HANA Cloud and SAP S/4HANA. In addition, SAP S/4HANA Cloud, ABAP environment allows to develop tightly coupled extensions that run directly on the SAP S/4HANA Cloud technology stack. The same development model is also offered to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition and SAP S/4HANA on-premise. |
| Do you think Salesforce will be a big competitor in the future? | Given the current spread of Salesforce offering, it will remain a competitor to SAP in the foreseeable future in overlapping applications market, specifically around CRM apps (sales, service, commerce, etc.) and few platform components (Tableau for analytics, Mulesoft for integration) that overlap with SAP’s BTP portfolio. However, SAP has a much broader applications portfolio beyond CRM and differentiates its platform with business context (process intelligence, workflow automation, data platform and AI). The platform is optimized for SAP applications and puts SAP and its customers in a unique position to drive successful end-to-end digital transformation. |
| How will a global economic downturn change the ERP landscape? | Companies will need to be more flexible and react to changing supply chains, onboarding new vendors, delivering in new markets, etc. So this need for efficiency and resiliency is why digital transformation is so critical, and where SAP S/4HANA and RISE with SAP can deliver on this need. |
| Is Snowflake a competitor to SAP or a partner? | Just as any other data management provider, Snowflake would be considered one of the competitors in cloud data warehousing. SAP offers a broader data & analytics portfolio that includes Data Management – data integration, data quality, metadata management, master data management, as well as business intelligence and predictive analytics, that is coupled with SAP applications as opposed to a stand-alone data cloud offering. At the same time, SAP gives customers the choice to choose their preferred data layer, and hence there maybe customers who have both Snowflake and SAP footprint as part of their data landscapes. |
