High CPU usage in HANA Cloud can be cause by too many processes. So, check workload using SAP HANA Cockpit or Studio. Look for long SQL statements, high memory usage, or many active connections.
It can be also caused by Delta merge operations, because this process moves data and can be CPU-intensive. Check frequency and duration in the SAP HANA Cockpit. If too frequent, it might be due to high data change rates or small delta memory limits.
Also, a poorly optimized SQL queries can consume a lot of CPU. Use the SQL Plan Cache in the SAP HANA Cockpit to identify inefficient queries. Look for queries with high execution times, high CPU usage, or high read/write operations.
Then, you should check insufficient hardware resources for specifications and compare them with the recommended specifications for SAP HANA.
Bugs in the SAP HANA software can cause high CPU usage. Check the SAP Notes and SAP Community for any known issues.
