Change of Granularity

Hello, 

Currently we are having Granularity set to "Optimized for metric monitoring" so all the metric information is available for 30 days only. due to the issues happening in our landscape we are planning to increase this Granularity period to LONG so that we can have history of data to analyze the issue further. But before changing the granularity from small to LONG for all the enabled metrics we would like to know the system performance issues or Database growth to consider and what would be the affect if we change to LONG for all the metrics and which tables will grow after enabling it to LONG.

Could some experts help gives some KBAs, blogs or links?

Using the highest possible granularity, the DB resources will be affected.
