Hi Community,
we are developing a cap-service with OData-API and Fiori-UI which we plan to use commercially.
We now scanned the licenses of our CAP-Application and found out that node packages from SAP are using the "SAP Developer License".
Strictly speaking, when our cap-service directly would use such a node-package, we would violate that license when delivering the software (for example as .mtar file for deployment in customers btp environment), because the central important and needed app-router module is not open source but under the SAP-developer license!!!
Can this be right? So is it impossible to commercially deploy applications for partners because of this license?
And additionally: We do not leave the sap-universe. The planned service has to run on SAP BTP, cloud foundry (because we also use btp-services like destination service, xsuaa, and so more). We do not plan to deploy/run our cap-service on customer-sites outside the sap-universe.
Any helpfull answer is heartly welcome
Kind regards
Matthias
