Is activation of US language a requirement/prerequisite for IAS/IPS?

Today we only have English UK and French in all our instance. We are also planning to activate the English US language and the IAS/IPS. I wonder if there is connection between the two i.e. the language should be activated first before IAS/IPS?

Language selection is relevant for the end user UIs of the Identity Services as well as emails being sent and - if configured - terms-of-use and privacy documents.

see https://help.sap.com/docs/cloud-identity-services/cloud-identity-services/supported-languages and https://help.sap.com/docs/cloud-identity-services/cloud-identity-services/configure-default-language... for details which languages are supported and how default language is determined.

One should setup those languages which are relevant for users being authenticated and registered in the Identity Services, but it is not mandatory - fallback/default language is always en-us.

A follow-up on this. If we already set EN-UK as the default language and EN-US activation is neither a mandatory nor a prerequisite for IAS, is it possible not to activate EN-US at all?

You cannot specify another language as default language.
