dbsrv50.exe crashing

A developer in subsahara Africa developed a finance software using power builder 9.0 and Sybase Anywhere 5.5. When we deployed the solution the dbsrv50.exe kept crashing on the server system.

I felt if we can migrate to Sybase Anywhere 16 (either Standard edition or workgroup edition) will the crashing stop? What do you advise?

If the developer created the database file from scratch, that developer should re-create the database from scratch using the SQL Anywhere 17 Developers Edition.

Some work may (or may not) be required to get the PowerBuilder 9 IDE to work with SQL Anywhere 17.
