Free access and license to SAP systems/products

Hello,

I am preparing my master thesis on "ERP Configuration".
So in my thesis, I would like to use a SAP system / product for database management (collect dataset through ABAP program) and machine learning, and I would like to ask you if I can have free access and license for that.

If yes, then it should be the easiest way for you to get access to the content you may need.

Yes, my university is part of SAP University Alliances.
It's the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Sorry for the question, but I am quite confused.
How do I get access? By connecting to the SAP systems via my university's email address?

mis_20031 , in case of access via your university you best ask your professor or whoever is managing your university systems -- what is available and how to get access 🙂

Your request is quite broadly defined 🙂

On one hand you have low-code capabilities of ML (aka predictive scenarios) built into SAP Analytics Cloud: https://saphanajourney.com/sap-analytics-cloud/learning-track/getting-started-with-smart-predict/ And SAP Analytics Cloud offers 90 days free trial.

On the other hand you have pro-code capabilities in SAP Business Technology Platform, I did a review of in https://blogs.sap.com/2020/12/09/diy-apps-or-analytics-with-machine-learning/ And SAP BTP offers 1 year free trial, incl. SAP AI Business Services.

SAP contributes as well to the ML open source, like: https://github.com/SAP/machine-learning-lab

But if you are looking for the ERP product SAP S/4HANA, then it has its own ISLM tool: https://blogs.sap.com/2021/05/09/intelligent-scenario-lifecycle-management-frequently-asked-question.... But there is no personal trial of S/4HANA available, and you might need at your university if they can provide an access to it.

Hi Kaushik,

I mean if I have the authorization/permission to collect and use the data that are stored in the SAP database as part of my master thesis.

Also, about trials, aren't they for a limited time? I would like to use them for a longer period of time, throughout my thesis.

Moreover, regarding machine learning, I would like to use a SAP platform to train a model, so to predict values or to automate some processes.

Sorry, if I didn't explain it well, I'm quite confused.

Well the thing is that when its the SAP Product which can also be used as Organisations Businesses, so those products are not free... Either SAP launches from their own funds, or the Customers buy SAP License for the SAP products to run uninterruptedly... You are right, the trials are limited period & their purpose is for learning & development & so they remains for limited period & gets expired after certain time
