Hi experts,
We have recently noticed that the HANA database is experiencing sudden slowdowns in data insertion and update operations. When checking the database, the CPU and memory usage are normal, and the query statements are running normally. However, when reviewing the logs, there is no indication of any statements with a long lock wait time. We are unsure of the cause of this issue and would appreciate any help or suggestions on how to locate and resolve it. Thank you very much.
Hi ,
To add to Michael's reference to the SAP HANA Troubleshooting and Performance Analysis Guide :
Slow inserts/upserts can be caused by multiple scenarios like poor I/O commit time, transactional deadlocks and lock-waits.
Reproduce/wait for the issue to arise again and then set 4-5 runtime dumps with 5 minute intervals in between while the issue is live (See KBA 1813020 - How to generate a runtime dump on SAP HANA)
Kind Regards
Simon
