HDI Container Data Lost on Build + Deploy

My project is based on the SAP Cloud Platform Business Application Template. Each time I build the DB module and/or re-deploy to Cloud Foundry, I lose all data in my temp and deployed hdi-containers.

Am I able to retain data in the deployed hdi-container across new MTA versions and re-deployments? Any other considerations when planning to use hdi-containers in a productive scenerio?

deleting the .hdbtabledata from the DB module has stopped data loss on build + deploy.

Follow-up, Is it possible to still use a .hdbtabledata to populate some tables without clearing data from all tables (those not populated by the hdbtabledata file) on build?

Hi Austin,

I never tried this myself, so I don't know the definite solution but I guess you should be able to do this with a proper config of the hdbtabledata file or with arguments to the HDI deployment package.

Here are some resources:

HDB Table data

Node HDI Deployer

I hope this helps!
