Logic for Extracting Employee ID Numbers Starting with an "8"

I'm building a data model that has both business employee ID numbers and contractor employee ID numbers. currently, they are in a column together. The business ID numbers start with a "1", the contractors ID numbers start with an "8". I need to make a column or some kind of logic that separates the 2.
