SAP Application logging Service missing Alert Notification Service integration

Hi team,

We are using the Kibana Dashboard for application logging on SAP BTP CAP applications.

What we noticed that the Kibana version on SAP BTP is a trimmed down version of the original Kibana Dashboard which has integrated alerting capabilities.

As per KBA https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/3138209 there will be no alerting feature enabled.

Our question is if there are plans for SAP Application Logging Service to have an inbuild integration with Alert Notification Service or the Kibana Dashboard will only be available for manual monitoring and troubleshooting.

Hi Haaris,

You are correct, SAP Application Logging service from the Cloud Foundry environment of SAP BTP does unfortunately not support alerting/is lacking integration with SAP Alert Notification service for SAP BTP.

According to my knowledge, this would be planned to be provided for a successor of the SAP Application Logging service on Cloud Foundry - in addition to additional planned features, such as custom retention periods, auto-scaling, higher flexibility, and becoming source agnostic. This successor is currently under development, but this would not be something to expect in the next months already. So, please look out for any updates in that direction.
