Hi Everyone,
We have numerous SAP solutions, including SAP BTP, IAS, Ariba, and more. Concerning BTP, there exists a service 'custom domain' facilitating the mapping of the default URL to a company-specific subdomain.
For the BTP Workzone URL:
A company-specific subdomain can be established:
https://workzone.mycompany.com
While reading through, My understanding that it is also possible to use a CNAME record in DNS to link the SAP-generated URL to the company-specific URL.
Hence, is it feasible to forgo using the custom domain service and proceed solely with the CNAME record in DNS settings? Kindly provide guidance, especially concerning any security-related considerations or potential limitations with the CNAME approach.
Thank you.

Only when you provide your own certificate using the custom domain you can make use of the CNAME. It works only in combination.

Hi gregorw
Thank you for the clarification.
with your clarification, I understand that we should use BTP custom domain service to map to the company domain.
Could you please help look into my other query link and provide guidance/ general practice? This question is more about how to map SAP cloud solutions (SF,Concur etc) to the company domain where we cannot use the custom domain service.
Thanks
