Dear all,

We do have SAP IDM 8.0 running on an AS-JAVA 7.53, SPS22, on Windows-Server-2012 and SQL-Server-2019.

- AS-JAVA 7.53 => IDM 8.0 - are running on server-01 on Windows 2012.

- Database => SQL-Server-2012 is running on server-02 on Windows 2012.

Our project is :

1. In 2022, we want have our Database running on SQL-Server-2019 (instead SQL-Server-2012) on Windows-2012.

New Database New : server-02-new

2. In 2023, we want to have our AS-JAVA 7.53 running on Windows-2012 instead Windows-2019

Our approach is :

1. Install new SQL-Server to host SQL Database, directly with version SQL-Server-2019, running on Windows-2019.
2. Backup from source server_02 and restore to server-02-new - Backup-restore SAP IDM database only.
3. Backup from source server_02 and restore to to server-02-new - Backup-restore SAP JAVA database only.
4. Update correct JDBC driver if needed and reconnect the SAP AS-JAVA (Server sv02187) to the new target_new_server (SQL-Server-2019, running on Windows-2019).

Which methodology would you recommend for our project ? We absolutely have to use a new DB server and a new AS-JAVA server to host SQL-Server-2019 on Windows-2019 and an AS-JAVA SAP on Windows-2019.

Thanks for your highlight.

Best regards

Pascal

Hi,

review this links and do a system/copy using Export/Import instead backup/restore
