Using SAP Cloud ALM before migrating to S/4Hana - EHP6 for ERP 6.0

I don't think it's supported but just to verify I haven't missed something.

We're thought of moving from Solution Manager to Cloud ALM prior to the S/4Hana migration. However SAP NetWeaver Application Server for ABAP (7.40 or higher) indicates we need to be on at least EHP7 for ERP 6.0

For Signavio there is information for connecting earlier EHP versions:

Does anyone know of anything similar for Cloud ALM?

For anyone seeing this in late 2023 / early 2024 a quick summary:

• Our Java systems cannot move SAP Cloud ALM
• Our ECC (EHP6 for ERP 6.0) system cannot move to SAP Cloud ALM without an EHP upgrade to EHP7 (to get us to Netweaver 7.40) and SAP previously suggested we put our energy into the S/4Hana migration so I'm not sure we'll do this
• Our ITSM cannot move to SAP Cloud ALM - we'll have to identify a replacement
• Our Testing will have to move Tricentis
• Our Solution Documentation cannot move to SAP Cloud ALM yet

So we'll continue with Solution Manager for now.

Gavin - Check for SAP Netweaver for ABAP 7.40 Supported Solutions under the Setup and Admin Guide. Link below. https://help.sap.com/docs/cloud-alm/setup-administration/supported-solutions Under Prerequisites for Change and Deployment Management, it asks for specific levels for SAP_BASIS and ST-PI. I would recommend going to the latest available SP supported by ECC for both.

Thank you Thomas for your response.

I understand the SAP Cloud ALM is not like Signavio - I was merely using that as a example of documentation of how to connect older ECC systems. My hope was that there was something similar for Cloud ALM which I hadn't been able to find.

I also understand that Cloud ALM is technically very different to Solution Manager.

There are some things we use in Solution Manager, such as ITSM, that we know we need to find a replacement for.

Other things, such as Solution Documentation will be available in at some point in the future.

We thought we would follow the suggestion to "switch to SAP Cloud ALM for service and operations now" - except for the SAP NetWeaver Application Server for ABAP (7.40 or higher) which indicates we need to be on at least EHP7 for ERP 6.0 to do so.

A we're no on EHP7 yet this would prevent us making the move until we're on S/4Hana unless we undertake an upgrade to EHP7 in advance of the S/4Hana migration.

Hi Galvin,

you can't compare Solution Manager with SAP Cloud ALM - these are completly different things from technology point of view. Also Signavio is a different story.

• At the moment you'll have only a connector from Solman to Signavio (since Sept 2023)
• a Signavio-Integration in CALM is announced next year 2024 (3. or 4. quarter)
