Workbooks with Analysis for Office and linked data crashing AO plugin

I have a user or 2 that see this issue often.

Workbook has AO results in it. It also has data cells linked to external stored (mapped folders) workbooks.

If the user updates the AO data, all is fine.

If the user then edits the links (Data..Edit Links) to pull in another copy of the same data, the associated cells update correctly.

When you click CLOSE to the Edit Link dialogue, AO crashes. It must be turned off and back on via Excel Plugin Options.

I have watched the user make it happen. We removed all formulas that call upon the result area (GETDATA() as well as Index/Match as well as VLOOKUP) this seems to make it go away in the suspect workbook.

I do not get why editing links would force close the AO plugin???

I cannot reproduce, but my example is very small datasets vs. these big finance sheets.

Hi James - would you please update to show which version/SP of Analysis Office you are using?

sorry. forgot... AO 2.8.9 ..and no. we are not moving forward unless its a known issue and has been documented as fixed.
