This blog post is second in the series I use this summer to highlight blog posts from contributors on SAP Activate community that caught my attention. Here is the first blog post in this series. Recommendations for greenfield implementations of RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition follo...


In this blog post marco.valencia provides detailed guidance for customers deploying RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition following a cloud mindset as follows: (1) Foster cloud mindset by adhering to fit-to-standard and agile deployment detailed in SAP Activate. Leverage SAP standard processes where possible. Deploy your solution incrementally with short sprints and releases. (2) Use pre-configured solutions with pre-defined processes and leverage SAP Fiori UX. (3) Ensure use of modern integration technologies, use APIs for integration. (4) Ensure use of modern extensibility technologies. Follow guide to Extend SAP S/4HANA in the cloud and on premise with ABAP based extensions. (5) Ensure transparency on deviations. Any deviation from the standard must be clearly documented as part of the implementation. It is recommended to establish a solution standardization board (SSB) in your project to control your extensions. Use standard capabilities of SAP Application Lifecycle Management tools to document the solution.


 

Relaunch of SAP Activate for New Cloud Implementations


In this post christina.galbreath informs the community about the relaunch of the re-designed SAP Activate for New Cloud Implementation roadmap that is specifically designed for SAP cloud solutions that do not have dedicated implementation roadmaps. Its purpose is to provide comprehensive guidance to the implementation team throughout the cloud deployment process. This is great addition and update to SAP Activate roadmaps that any customer can use to implement their cloud solution from SAP, even if the solution doesn’t have dedicated SAP Activate methodology.


 

SAP Activate – with Agile, really works and saves time?


In this post jarleyng shares his learnings and expertise with SAP Activate from number of customer projects. He shares insight into how to best leverage best practices, agile mindset, and fit-to-standard thinking to drive implementation of SAP S/4HANA. Discussed the role of quality management and importance of Q-Gates as well as why OCM is important for your success. There is a lot more nuggets that you will find in Jarlei’s post.


 

Analyzing the Project Management Workstream in an S/4 HANA Implementation Project


ecox shared her post with overview of the project management workstream and roles that are needed to successfully execute an SAP S/4HANA transition. The article explains that the goal of the project management workstream on an SAP S/4 HANA Implementation, how to keep the project team on track throughout the end-to-end phases of the project and ensure that stakeholders are well-aligned with the project’s vision.


 

Project Management with SAP Cloud ALM


To stay on the theme of Project Management, daniel.enderli shared guidance for how to best leverage SAP Cloud ALM capabilities for project management of your deployment. He discusses the key features that SAP Cloud ALM provides out of the box, including how to assign SAP Activate roadmap to the project, how to manage tasks, and how to use progress reporting.
