Maintenance Management
Extensibility: Add customer fields to maintenance plans and items
As a key user, you can extend the apps
- Manage Maintenance Plans (F5325)
- Manage Maintenance Items (F5356)
and the OData APIs
- Maintenance Plan (API_MAINTENANCEPLAN)
- Maintenance Item (API_MAINTENANCEITEM)
with custom fields according to your business needs.

Select Order or Notification Type while creating Maintenance Items
With the Manage Maintenance Plans (F5325) app and Manage Maintenance Items (F5356) app, you can now assign an order type or a notification type for a maintenance item in the initial screen while creating the maintenance item. The order type or the notification type is based on the maintenance plan category.

Earlier, you had to go to the object page of a maintenance item to assign the order type.
Additional filter fields in Maintenance Plan Scheduling Overview
With the Maintenance Plan Scheduling Overview (W0192) app, below 3 additional fields will be available to filter the report output:
- Start Date (basic start date for order and required start date for notification)
- Planned Date (Call object planned date)
- Call Date (Call object called date)
You can now use planned date and planned start date to filter maintenance plan scheduling details. You can also view the planned date and planned start date in the maintenance plan scheduling details.
Additional filter fields in Find Maintenance Task Lists apps
In the Find Maintenance Task Lists app, the following changes have been made:
- Some fields have been removed because they are not relevant for SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
- You can now select a system condition from a new value help. The table in the value help now displays the system condition along with its description.
- You can now filter task lists based on task list group and task list group counter.
In the Find Maintenance Task Lists and Operations app, the following changes have been made:
- Some fields have been removed because they are not relevant for SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
- New value helps are now available for selecting calculation key and currency.
- The Execution Stage column now displays its value along with its description.
Analytical CDS View for Maintenance Order Confirmations
The new analytical CDS view for maintenance order confirmations (I_MaintOrdConfirmationCube) can be used to build personalized analytical reports with aggregation or drill-down capabilities for maintenance order confirmations.

Enhanced Mass Edit in Find Maintenance Order app
With the past release, we introduced the Edit Orders quick action in the Find Maintenance Orders app for mass editing general order header data like order description, maintenance activity type, priority, and system condition (see my 2308 blog post).
Now with the 2402 release, sections and fields for mass edit have been enhanced in the Find Maintenance Order app. The following table lists the new section names as column titles (red text color) and the corresponding section fields in the columns below:

The mass edit will be performed as a background job to ensure a good system performance.

Resource Scheduling
Note, that using scope item Maintenance Resource Scheduling (43R) requires an additional SAP S/4HANA Cloud license.
Separation of operation and suboperation columns
For better transparency, the IDs and texts for operations and suboperations are now displayed in two separate
columns.
This applies to the following apps:
- Manage Work Center Utilization
- Manage Schedules
- Assign Maintenance Order Operations
The data is also shown in two columns when you do download it to a spreadsheet in the Manage Work Center
Utilization and Manage Schedules apps.
Improved Download to a Spreadsheet
When you download data to a spreadsheet using the Export feature in the Manage Work Center Utilization and Manage Schedules app, you now have an additional Export As option where you can specify different attributes:
- File name
- File format
- Whether the filter setting are to be listed on an additional worksheet
- Whether you want fields that contain a key and text to be shown in separate columns
For the Export and Export As features, fields containing the date and time are downloaded in the user’s time
zone as defined on the profile settings.
Maintenance Scheduling Board: Setting Planned Start Date
The feature for setting the planned start date for one or more operations is now also available in the context
menu. You can access directly on the shape for the relevant operation or operations you have selected in the
chart. Previously, it was only possible to do this for maintenance orders.
This is not available for suboperations, as suboperations are scheduled at the level of the main operations.
