Dear Hcm fellows.

I am facing issue as client is insisting about utilization of employee group "A" rathar than numeric entery

while execution of payroll process the following error occurs in SAP 4.6C Version

The current ABAP/4 program "RPCALCX0 " had to be terminated because

one of the statements could not be executed.

"

The program attempted to interpret the value "A" as a number, but

since the value contravenes the rules for correct number formats,

this was not possible."

while the same scenario is executed in SAP ECC6.06 version than "RPCALCX0" shows below mentioned error.

"Field T503-PERSG  has no numerical content "The current content is A"

dear hcm gurus "is any option prevailing to cater said requirement in new version for SAP ECC6.06.

Kind Regards

Hello Barket,

Employee Group(PERSG) is Charter Type of Field Length 1. In case, you are performing some numeric operation with the contents of Field in PERSG, then it would give the error.

Can you please go to Payroll Function PIT and check what you are trying to do inside the "Form FUPIT". We have to check the logic that you have put inside "FUPIT" for RPCALCX.

Hi

the Employee Group is a character field so there is no issue in using A.

But in the Payroll there is a Z Function  - ZAGE that you have used.

Please check the logic written in the same as the error occurs in the Z function.

thanks
