Yes its possible to use Fiori as a barcode scanning tool - we did it for one of my previous clients..
You will need to discuss the requirement with you technical team (ABAP/Basis).

Why not use Fiori for your barcode scanning solution?
As far as I am aware, the (very) old LM00/LM01 barcode scanning solution is still available.
