Rehire a employee who is on Global Assignment in the host country

Dear experts,

We have a scenario in our company where we are localizing an employee who is on global assignment. We are using SF as source and data is replicated back to SAP HCM system where we have Payroll .  We have a requirement that we want localized SAP ID ( PERNR) to be same as SAP Global Assignment ID in other words Employment id in Host Country ( PERNR) . Example below:

Friedrich Felix is a German employee who was working from 2023-01-01 till 2023-07-31 in German company A with SAP PERNR as "100". . From 2023-08-01 he came to work in USA in a global assignment for 2 months i.e. till 2023-09-30 as SAP PERNR '101'.  Friedrich Felix and USA company planned to localize him in the USA ( rehire in US with end of German employment)  after his global assignment with the same user id as while he was in USA assignment SAP ID 101'.

We do not want to hire Friedrich Felix  as a “new hire/new employment” in USA, rather would like to continue the global assignment user id to re-hire him. Please advise.

The reason for us to rehire with same user id is to have the payroll or any other 3rd party downstream system to use the same id for legal purposes.

Note: we are using SAP HCM to replication the USA employment and executing payroll for USA, we need to have one user so the payroll taxes and other legal payroll requirements are met.

Thanks

Senthil Bala
