Restrictions in Permissions ( RBP ) for Multiple Implementation vendors in SuccessFactors

Hi All,

There is a query from the customer whether is there any best practices available when multiple (different) vendors are implementing in the same SuccessFactors instance. For Ex: Customer has operations in multiple countries and each country Employee central Payroll Implementation is carried out by different vendors. Now, the permissions are provided to different vendors in RBP with separate roles with their country's target population.

But configuration permissions like Object Definition, Business configuration, Workflow, Business Rules is common and they can view or edit any of the existing details. They have a concern that they are exposing the whole configuration to every vendor and they wont be able to monitor.

We understand that there is no way which we are aware to do this kind of restriction. Please let us know how to address this and what SuccessFactors offers.

Dear arunsribs_01,

In the case you described, the vendors must access the same objects and configurations, so there is not way from restricting it, but you can still restrict the data access. So if the vendor from US creates data, you can prevent other vendors, from other countries from viewing it (and vice versa). For this the objects should respect the target population.

Besides that, other customers tend to control what each vendor is doing, to not overlap each others, but this is more offline control (sometimes they use an internal ticketing solution, so vendors can only configure, after customer's approval, for example).
