This month São Paulo hosted an SAP Codejam on HANA, express edition. The event took place on a Saturday, June 10th, at Instituto Acctiva, located in the famous Avenida Paulista. For this Codejam we had the pleasure to receive lsubatin representing the SAP Developers.
Lucía started the day presenting HXE, SAP HANA, express edition and the different ways to run it. She also explained the prerequisites for those who wanted to run in their laptops. As a prerequisite for the Codejam, attendees were supposed to have already decided whether to download the Virtual Machine to run in their laptops, in case they have at least 8GB RAM, or the Binary installer to run on a cloud or on a laptop with SUSE, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu or openSUSE, so most of them were already ready to start the installation.
Lucía then helped the group to install HXE. For the Codejam the version installed was the server-only, but those who had laptops with 16GB RAM or more could also exercise the installation of server plus XS applications, with Lucía’s support.Most of the attendees were interested in XSA.
During the event attendees followed the tutorials and started using SAP HANA, express edition on-premise and/or on Google Cloud.
We had a break at lunch time to recharge the batteries and it was a great opportunity for networking. Most of the attendees are also SAP Inside Track participants and SAP Community members, so we were in a family meeting. 😄
Once again we had full house in São Paulo. The city really has a great demand of events like that. I hope we have more opportunities to bring SAP Codejams here. There are so many interesting topics to select!
