Supporting the State of Arkansas's economy by empowering employers and job seekers

The Division of Workforce Services (ADWS) is a department within the state that has been an existing SAP ECC customer since 2000. This division is responsible for performing detailed cost allocation for grants and reporting back to its sponsors. They are tasked with allocating State and Federal grants in a timely manner to serve the citizens of Arkansas. Their mission is to support and secure Arkansas’s economic vitality through the highly skilled workforce by administering programs and providing efficient services that empower employees and job seekers. Key to their mission is driving economic vitality in the State of Arkansas by expediting the delivery of Federal funds to Citizen Facing Services.
Multiple aging systems were used to perform detailed cost allocation for grants and report back to their sponsors. The custom-written system crashed and was inoperative leaving the department with a manual process that was expensive, time-consuming, and exposed risks in their data entry. The inability to provide timely financial reports on a manual system meant the department risked future funding from the Federal government securing salaries. Working with their trusted advisor, NTT Data and SAP they were able to get a contract defined and executed in 23 days.
Work started almost immediately after, with a successful go-live 27 weeks later of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition, for the Public Sector. ADWS showed unwavering support for an untried solution and worked tirelessly with SAP and NTT Data to deploy, build, test, and launch the solution.
Therefore, they significantly simplified their existing cost allocation model and met their 6/30/22 deadline. The modular approach allowed the State of Arkansas to be nimble and complete its procurement process on time.
This also enabled the department with a system to perform substantive reporting to improve execution and deliver insights with KPIs. They subsequently reported federal quarterly reports on time for the first time.

The platform has increased the speed of data analysis, enabling Brigada Carcarae to respond quickly to calls and make informed decisions.

Diakonie Nord Nord Ost is one of the largest diaconial institutions in Schleswig-Holstein and has assumed social responsibility since 1906. Over 3500 employees of the non-government organization (NGO) are dedicated with their hearts and minds to help people in all life circumstances in more than 100 facilities, with and without disabilities. They support people in all stages of life and impress with diversity on various levels.
Together with SAP, Diakonie Nord Nord Ost made their way towards significantly clearer and less complex financial processes. They are a pioneer in the social economy setting social accounting standards with SAP and achieving an 84% reduction in time required to release invoices, increased efficiency processing invoices, maximized productivity through a optimized finance process and tangible employee satisfaction.

Ministry of Finance, Republic of Serbia managed to provide to users across Serbian public sector that use ISKRA SAP HCM, and PY solutions, comprehensive data analytics solution. This solution is based on integrated data from ISKRA and systems for budget execution. More than 40 different stories enable full insight into workforce indicators and related expenditures.
Ministry of Finance top management have the possibility to use a mobile application that allows the tracking of KPIs in real-time. The budget department in Ministry of Finance now has tools for budget preparation, monitoring of budget execution, predictions, and budget rebalancing.

RAK Municipality Customer Journeys

The goal of our solution was to collect groups of related services into customer journeys. This included a redesign of both front-end and back-end sides of the solution.
On the front-end, we deployed the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) solution extensively, using our partner QV's screen building solution. On the back-end, we created a Journey object, with SAP Business Rule Framework plus (BRF+) capabilities, allowing it to later be inherited multiple times while maintaining the single solution object.
The project greatly influenced the deployment of our government online services and their usage. Our first journey was for RAK Municipality - 'Manage my Land', and following its success, more journeys are following it from different departments, related to Lands, Courts and Business Development.

The UK is legally committed to achieving NetZero 2050. Infrastructure contributes directly to 43% of global CO2e and indirectly 95% globally. UK Government needs to consolidate its infrastructure carbon emission data to ensure it is creating a data based policy environment to achieve NetZero.
Working with policy officials and carbon SMEs, Costain and partner, Deloitte, implemented a data virtualisation platform, leveraging SAP’s financial and manufacturing pedigree to visualise carbon emission reporting across billions of pounds of infrastructure assets.
The change enabled clear guidance for the supply chain to adopt best practice carbon management practices to expedite UK’s NetZero journey.

The EU taxonomy is part of the European strategy for sustainable finance to direct capital flows into taxonomy-compliant and thus sustainable investments. Sustainability in general and taxonomy in particular therefore have high attention at DPDHL management level. Deutsche Post DHL built with us in a PoC a digital classification system that defines when an economic activity environmentally is sustainable and therefore "Green" within the EU Taxonomy. Reporting that aligned to revenue for Capex & Opex. This PoC will be delivered as standard in the Sustainability Control Tower as of Q4 2022.

The vast majority of Royal Mail Group's 140,000 employees are 'frontline' and are based in the mail centers, delivery offices, and driving the fleet. Apart from via line-managers and traditional surface mail, RMG had no way of engaging and 'transacting' with these employees. Our solution was the 'PeopleApp' - an app that is targeted at (but not limited to) frontline colleagues, giving them direct access to their personal information and business services on their own devices.
Today over 110,000 employees have downloaded and utilized the app on their own devices, creating a new channel of engagement with employees and allowing them to become 'connected' for the first time, whilst also enabling more efficient delivery of services, reducing the administrative overhead online managers and HR, and allowing employees to access and manage their data anytime. PeopleApp is now the 'channel of choice' for all employee engagement at RMG.
