This year, we are pleased to announce the 11th edition of the SAP Innovation Awards. This program celebrates the organisations that have embraced SAP solutions with an innovative perspective, helping them stand out with impressive outcomes and adjust to the constantly evolving demands of their customers.
During the 10th edition of the Innovation Awards, our customers from the Energy and Utilities sector won in the categories of Adoption Champion, Cutting-Edge Genius, Industry Leader, and Transformation Titan. The categories for this year's Innovation Awards are Sustainability Hero, Industry Leader, Partner Paragon, Transformation Titan, Business Innovator, Services Supernova, and Experience Wizard.

Submissions from oil, gas, and energy companies:
- Suncor Energy is creating business value by using the SAP Build process automation and SAP Business AI, both of which are powered by the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). This allowed them to reduce the risks associated with regulatory filing but also minimize manual effort and shorten the period-end closing time. Pitch Deck
- Petrobras is reducing greenhouse gas emissions with the optimization of their end-to-end processes by using SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) for Gas, as part of the SAP Supply Chain Control Tower. Pitch Deck
- Cadent Gas with the help of HCLTech re-designed the system with the integration of SAP
Datasphere and SAP BTP , this solution provided security and the ability to create data models using minimal coding. Pitch Deck - Shell is undergoing a digital transformation with SAP S/4HANA Central Finance to integrate all their complex financial systems into one source of information, while also providing a user-friendly experience. - Spirit Energy has merged the management of assets, work, and inspections within the SAP framework and includes a core component called "Smart Ex" that adds inspection capabilities to the S/4HANA system. Pitch Deck
- AsInt is supporting customer in the dynamic landscape of industrial inspections, where risk mitigation is paramount, to transform Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) through the integration of a Unified Software Solution powered by the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). Pitch Deck & blog post
Submissions from utility companies:
- Elia Group is using the SAP master data and the Scope 3 Platform to collect and analyze information from the supply chain and target their decarbonization efforts. Pitch Deck
- AusNet is adopting an employee-centered experience through the SAP SuccessFactors solution. This integrates three systems into one and improves the overall employee experience, which is expected to result in $1.8 million in HR savings over the next five years. Pitch Deck
- Saudi Electricity Company – SEC implemented the SAP eDocument framework that provides a streamlined and efficient mechanism for electronic invoicing while ensuring compliance, reliability, security, and transparency. Pitch Deck
In a different submission, SEC implemented SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C) that improved the customer experience with the vision in mind to be able to interact efficiently and accurately with the customers. Pitch Deck - Dubai Electricity and Water Authority is transforming its user journey with SAP S/4HANA by creating a novel identification utility tool and user-centric design they have improved data quality, streamlined journeys in SAP S/4HANA, integrated business partner master data, and real-time insights for informed decision-making. - FARYS collaborates to create a cloud-based smart meter and energy management system to integrate data in one place to reduce total cost of ownership compared to competitors. Pitch Deck
- Energy Harbor migrates to a new SAP S/4HANA platform, which reduces IT debt (50% of custom code retired), streamlines system usage, simplifies the solution, and leverages new technologies to prepare the company for the future. Pitch Deck
- Engie migrated to S/4HANA Utilities with TCS to enhance its billing and customer care processes. This solution simplified and modernized the user experience and increased efficiency. Pitch Deck
- energyOS is helping utilities to keep up the pace with rapidly evolving operating environment through SAP meters-to-cash and CRM systems. Utilities are able to define new customer segments, understand changes taking place and how those changes impact gross margin. Pitch Deck
- Greenskies is bringing clean energy to new markets and industries by using SAP Business Application Studio. In addition, they have centralized their data through SAP HANA Cloud which has helped them track system health, production anomalies and ensure project efficiency. Pitch Deck
- DTE in collaboration with SEW implemented the SAP Self Service Accelerator (SSA) Platform to streamline customer service and enhance operational efficiency. Pitch Deck
