You may not know it, but there is about to be a huge influx of people flocking to the Nevada desert looking to solve tough problems, learn from experts, and build a lasting community. No no, not Burning Man – that was last month. I’m talking about SAP TechEd, running from September 23-27 in Las Vegas.
If you’ve been to an SAP TechEd event before, you understand the appeal. It is a unique experience where you can spend your morning soaking up knowledge from sessions, have a one-on-one conversation with an SAP expert over lunch, get hands-on with labs and workshops in the afternoon, and casually exchange ideas with your peers from around the world in the evenings. Picking up best practices and practical advice from innovative SAP customers is easy: simply attend one of the many customer-led sessions. There just is no better place to engage with experts from SAP and the broader SAP ecosystem.
As for my area of expertise, Aba did not disappoint when he curated the Applied Intelligence learning journeys. This program is chock-full of fantastic information about analytics augmented with machine learning, chatbots that use artificial intelligence, planning solutions for the entire business, data warehousing in the cloud, the internet of things, and, of course, blockchain. All this content is delivered by brilliant presenters who are at the top of their respective fields. If you don’t believe me, listen to Aba describe it himself.
Though there are a plethora of technical and product-specific sessions that come in all flavours, the following three presentations distill SAP’s strategy on analytics into 30 minute morsels and simply cannot be missed.

In addition to all the remarkable content in the sessions and Developers Garage, we have a great program available on the show floor. Our Applied Intelligence track bar has seven different pods (including SAP BusinessObjects!) staffed at all times with specialists just itching to share their knowledge, help solve a problem, or give a demo. We also have interactive demos, like the SAP Digital Boardroom, if you need to shake it up and get the blood flowing.
