Actions:

One of the major highlights of this release for SAP Signavio Process Intelligence is Actions, a new capability that helps you close the loop from insight to action. From now on, you will be able to go end-to-end in your process improvement efforts with our new Actions feature, which allows process analysts to set up rule-based conditions (e.g. cycle time goes beyond a threshold, a non-compliant variant is performed by a user, some specific data values apply, or any combination of similar conditions) that, if fulfilled, generate an action. You can define these conditions using our query language SIGNAL and execute follow-up actions in an automated way.
These actions can be of different nature: workflows, automations, or notifications.

After discovering a process issue or an interesting performance metric, it is often necessary to start automated remediation. For this matter, process analysts need to integrate with different tools for improvement purposes. SAP Signavio Process Intelligence enables now process analysts to trigger workflows directly in SAP Build Process Automation or other 3rd party tools, leveraging webhook technology.

Besides workflows, it is also possible to trigger automations, executing RPA bots that act over repetitive human tasks based on process mining insights and speed up data-driven process improvement in your company. To accomplish this, we now offer you the ability to integrate Actions with standalone RPA bot scenarios in SAP Build Process Automation and execute them based on the specific process conditions defined. We also offer open connectivity to link Actions to other 3rd party automation tools, by setting up a web-hook. This allows you to connect to virtually any system using standard web-service calls.

But this is not all: leverage Actions to proactively inform your colleagues about critical process dynamics via E-Mail notifications and send them action results as CSV attachments. Or additionally, send these as Microsoft Teams notifications to your channel of choice by leveraging webhooks. This will truly help you expand the reach of process mining to multiple stakeholders in your organization.
Additionally, you can monitor and keep track of all successfully executed actions by activating the option to receive in-app communications directly in the SAP Signavio Process Transformation Suite. This allows you to take proactive action in a collaborative way, helps you reduce time to insight and adapt as well as save time in monitoring improvement programs.

Process Data Management:

We significantly enhanced our process data management capabilities.
Process analysts and data engineers now profit from increased performance in the data transformation phase and preview of complex queries. This is supported by the materialization of data views, which are virtual tables built on defined queries whose results are cached when executing a data pipeline.
As a result, creating and maintaining large queries in complex data scenarios is now much easier and more performant, enabling to scale execution of SAP Signavio Process Intelligence across very large data models, and exploit the full power of the SIGNAL engine and its augmented performance. All this, while significantly speeding up the data transformation process and considerably reducing the chance of timeout issues.

We have also expanded the options to connect data to our solution.
With the new SAP S/4HANA Core Data Service (CDS) views connector, you can now connect much faster to SAP S/4HANA systems on public and private clouds. This represents a more modern and recommended alternative to the currently available RFC protocol, allows an easier data extraction and supports also taking advantage of the new Business Event Logging features being implemented in recent SAP S/4HANA versions, drastically reduce data modelling effort in building event logs. This way, you can more easily and natively apply process mining analysis to your business processes in SAP S/4HANA and accelerate the start of your process mining and transformation initiatives.

In our January release, we introduced a completely renewed option to manually upload files (such as CSV files) to SAP Signavio Process Intelligence. This new uploader allows you to run quick process mining analyses on your data as an alternative or previous step to setting live system connections.
You now have the option to upload multiple CSV files as one single zip file, helping you speed up the start of a self-service process analysis or run a prototype much faster.

We also introduced several data modeling improvements that will support you in reducing complexity, save you time and increase collaboration during this data preparation phase.
The case attribute transformation in a pipeline execution is now faster, halving the time needed to execute queries on large data volumes.
New options in the SQL editor, such as shortcuts for search and preview, or option to change row limits, among other updates, will help you reduce the time to create and maintain your SQL queries.
Finally, profit now from better collaboration by working with your colleagues on the same data pipeline and the same business objects without overlapping each other’s work while easily accepting or rejecting each other’s changes.

As a closing reminder: our on-premises extractor is now compatible with Java 17. While still supporting previous versions, we recommend you plan a Java upgrade in your environment and install this latest version of the on-premises extractor. Read more in the On-premises server requirements documentation.

Accelerators:

We have released the accelerator “Manage Personal Employee Information” accelerator for SAP SuccessFactors, following our strategy to continuously provide new best-practice content with each release, thus helping you reduce time to insight and value with our solution. This templated approach allows you to start fast with a process mining initiative, then start customizing according to your needs.

The new accelerator covers the process of managing personal employee information in SAP SuccessFactors, in the Employee Central domain, and includes ready-to-use standard data transformation templates and metrics.

We also introduced updates to currently available accelerators. Please refer to the release notes for detailed information and see here the full list of our available accelerators.

Process analysis and mining:

We improved our SIGNAL engine performance, supporting you in processing now even larger event logs, for very wide and complex enterprise processes. You will also notice improved performance in our automated insights feature, with a much faster generation of insights.

A more comprehensive set of SIGNAL functions for string handling, arithmetic rounding, and ranking further supports your process data analysis efforts to drill down into data and customize your investigations.

Our metric library and collection enhancements provide you with an overall improved user experience.
As a major highlight: with the automated mapping of system variables, all metrics which are the default for your chosen system type in your process settings are labeled now as ‘recommended’ in the metric library. Available for all accelerators with metrics, this will significantly shorten your efforts when starting your process analyses, as metrics are already pre-selected for you. You can find the full list in our documentation.
In addition, you can now activate rounding for metrics or share links to individual metrics, among other metric updates.
